Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Tehran IKA International Airport, transfer to hotel. Check-in and rest.
Day 2: Visit Semnan And Drive To Damghan
Visit the Arg (Citadel) Gate of Semnan, Seljuk minaret, and the Tughrul Tower, Explore the Iron Age in Tepe Hissar The Tarikhaneh Mosque is believed to be one of the oldest mosques of the Islamic period. Original the building was a Zoroastrian fire temple, but in the 8th century, it was converted to a mosque. Most of the building has been built with sun-dried bricks.
Day 3: Drive To Jandagh
From the ancient city of Damghan we enter the central desert of Iran after 120 km we reach an uninhabited area of desert with a vast and majestic landscape. After a couple of hours of driving, we arrive in the small and historic town of Jandagh.
Day 4: Full Day Hike To Farahzad Oasis
After a short drive, we start hiking to Farahzad Oasis. This is the first day of our journey on foot and we will walk in the footsteps of many of the caravans who passed here in this way for thousands of years.
Today is about 6 hours of hiking over sandhills as well along with a salt plain.Day 5: Desert Trekking Toward Arousan Oasis
We continue our way to a semi-abandoned oasis with the support of camels like an ancient caravan while we enjoy the landscape of sand dunes and small salt flats. The overnight will be in camp, here we can spot thousands of stars at night time. In total it will be 6 to 7 hours walking.
Day 6: Continue The Trek
About 7-8 hours walking, over small sand hills and crossing open plains.
Day 7: Continue To Mohammad Abad
After four days of hiking with inimitable experiences in the desert, we arrive at another oasis with one resident family only, from here there is no other living place for hundreds of kilometers. This day will be around 6 hours of hiking.
Day 8: Drive To Khur Then To Tabas
Today we take a dirt road to exit the desert then we reach Khur the nearest city and pass through a big salt lake before we drive to Tabas. We will stop in a polygonal-shaped salt flat.
Day 9: Drive To Kerman Visiting Korit And Nayband Villages En Route.
We will visit the ruins of the abandoned village of Korit. Then visit the spectacular Nayband Village while we drive to Kerman.
Korit is a village more than thousands of years old and was in 1978 hit by a big earthquake. After the earthquake, the village was left in a semi-ruined state.Day 10: Drive To Shahdad, Start Hiking In The Lut Desert, And Spend A Night In The Hottest (In Summer) area on Earth.
Lut is one of the hottest and driest places on the planet with scenic landscapes. It is also registered as a natural world heritage by UNESCO. After passing through yardangs and naturally shaped monuments we camp under the stars and you will feel tiny between the surreal rock formations.
Day 11: Half-day Trek In Lut Desert And Drive Back To Kerman, Visiting Shazdeh Mahan Garden En-rout.
After enjoying the Lut desert we return to the civilization to chill out and freshen in Shazdeh Mahan Garden, a marvelous place in the desert. Then we will drive back to Kerman.
Day 12: Drive To Yazd, Afternoon City Tour In Yazd
After almost 400 km drive we arrive in the historic city of Yazd, the adobe-made city of wind towers in heart of the desert. Afternoon we visit the Amir Chakhmaq Complex.
Day 13: City Tour In Yazd
According to UNESCO, Yazd is one of the oldest cities in the world; it is like a living museum. We will go to visit the old historical part of the city “Fahadan” in the morning, there would be possible to go to the roof of Fahadan hotel and see the panoramic view of Yazd and the silk weaving workshop where exquisite brocades are still made on traditional looms. Visiting the oldest fire in the world at “Bahram-e-Yazd” fire temple, where a sacred fire has been kept alive for hundreds of years and is now a Zoroastrian pilgrim center. This is an opportunity to learn about Zoroastrianism, which had been the Persian religion until the Arabs brought Islam to Iran. We will visit “Jame mosque” from the 14th century, visiting “Zoorkhane”, literally the “house of strength”, the place for traditional Iranian exercise is our last plan in Yazd.
Day 14: Drive To Isfahan
Starting our day by driving to Isfahan, one of the most impressive cities in Iran. We will visit Meybod Nareen Castle. While continuing to Isfahan, we make a stop in Naein to visit the Friday Mosque and as well visit a carpet workshop. Evening visit to historic bridges in Isfahan.
Day 15: Full-day City Tour In Isfahan
Today we will go to visit Imam square, the huge open square in the center of Isfahan. With its artistic monuments on four sides including Imam mosque with intricate turquoise tiles, Sheikh Lotfollah mosque with some of the best mosaics from the 17th century, Ali Ghapoo Palace which was the first skyscraper in Iran, and the old Bazaar. Walking through one of the largest squares in the world and visiting history, culture, architecture, and handicrafts as well, is an experience you have never had before. Then we walk to the Chehel Sotoun Palace and after visiting this beautiful royal pavilion of Safavid and one of the Persian Gardens registered on the UNESCO World Heritage list. It’s time to explore more of Isfahan in leisure time in the old Bazaar with hundreds of shops displaying the arts and handicrafts.
Day 16: Half-day City Tour In Isfahan Then Drives To Kashan, En-route Visit Abyaneh Village.
Continuing our journey in Isfahan, we visit the Armenian quarter of Isfahan named Jolfa. There we bring a visit to Vank cathedral then drive to Kashan. En-route we visit Abyaneh village with the colorfully dressed inhabitants and the red mud-brick houses with lattice windows and fragile wooden balconies. Where the elderly residents speak Middle Persian, which disappeared centuries ago from other parts of Iran. Continue the road to Kashan.
Day 17: Half-day City Tour In Kashan And Drive Back To Tehran
Kashan is a historical city on the desert side and it is well known for its restored merchant houses. After about 3 hours drive we start our day tour by visiting Abbasian & Broujerdis traditional houses. These beautiful houses which belong to 18 and 19 centuries are illustrate the finest examples of the Qajar aesthetic. Then we visit Fin Garden, this delightful garden which is renowned as being the very epitome of the Persian Garden earned a place on the UNESCO World Heritage list with its historical background, an amazing atmosphere, symmetrical proportions, old cedars, spring-fed pools, and fountains. Drive back to Tehran.
Day 18: Departure
Transfer to Tehran IKA International Airport, departure, and fly back home.
